With Christmas literally right around the corner, I’m trying to figure out how to simplify Gifting A Memory. Like in less than 10 days, Christmas gifts will flood the tree and put smiles on faces and love in their hearts. Each year I spend a lot of time contemplating the perfect gift for each and every family member. This is no easy feat. Then once I find it and I’m completely pleased with myself, I plan and coordinate the gift wrap. Then I imagine the look on their faces, the oohs and ahhhs, possibly the let downs that perhaps this time, my gift didn’t quite make the cut (who am I kidding, I was born for this).
This year, I thought, enough with the stress already, keep it simple, keep it fun, and keep it you. So in keeping true to my own words and my solemn vow, this year I’m gifting my girls, something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read. There are always a few traditional items that my kids can expect under the tree. First up, something to wear… shhhhh… It’s SMELL GOOD, and the Coty Fragrance Gift Sets are not only affordable, but the variety is awesome. They’ve got Beyoncé, Vera Wang, Nautica, Katy Perry, and Stetson, just to name a few. This just so happens to be one of those traditional items and I get them at CVS, sweeeeeet! Pop in, grab em, pop out, done! Oh the simplicity of it all is amazing.
Because this is the year of simplicity in gifts, I thought why not have fun, reduce the stress, and craft a little. This year, instead of running around trying to find the perfect gift and the perfect wrap, I made my own. Using a few simple materials that you probably already have at home.
Gifting A Memory: DIY Gift Wrap/
- Sparkle Podge
- Foam Brush
- Red Paint
- Miscellaneous die cuts/ephemera
- Tape (or washi or decorative tape)
You get the idea, use what you have, get creative and make it fun.
First thing you’ll want to do is select which sheet of newspaper you want to wrap your gift in. I tend to choose ones that either have minimal advertising in them, more classifieds, and ones that have similar colors to match my theme.
Once your gift is wrapped, start applying thing layers of sparkle podge to the tops and sides of your packages. Allow time to dry in between the layers.
Once your sparkle podge is applied to your satisfaction and dry, decorate. Use your pouncer and red paint (or green, or gold, or silver or whatever you want) and make a fun and sparkly polka dot wrap. Use the ribbon, charms, die cuts, ephemera to create a fun bunch in the center of your packages. Personalize them to suit your personality and taste or the likes of your recipients. Most importantly have fun and keep it simple.
What makes these Coty Fragrance Gifts Sets even more perfect is that they’re so easy to wrap, and it ONLY take one sheet of newspaper! Can I get a woot woot?!
