I saw these adorable apothecary jars on Heidi Swapp’s Instagram feed and I instantaneously fell in love with the idea of creating a mini winter scene. Of course my store didn’t have any of her products, but I’m pretty good at improvising on my own. As I strolled the aisles, I came across lots of beauties, but for this project I decided to keep it semi-simple since I haven’t even decided on my actual winter/holiday decor.
Mini Winter Scene
To create a mini winter scene, you’ll need just a few basic materials, a display dome, a base, and snow. But the contents of the actual mini winter scene will be completely up to you and your taste.
- Mini Display Dome
- Mirror for Base
- Mini Bottle Brush Trees
- Mini Deer
- Stuffing (snow)
- Hot Glue
- Candle Ring
- Miniature Lights
Now that you’ve gathered all of your materials for your mini winter scene, let’s put it all together. I promise it’s easy and it’s going to be fun.
Take stuffing and adhere to mirror using hot glue.
Adhere three bottle brush trees in a triangular pattern onto the “snow”.
Adhere miniature deer in front of trees.
Decorate your trees if desired with “lights” and a star.
Lightly sprinkle glitter into dome and on the stuffing for that snowy effect.
Use miniature lights at the base dome. You can hot glue base to the dome if desired.
Place dome on top base and place in center of candle ring.
Display your beautiful mini winter scene.
This was the most fun, quick and adorable little project to kick off my holiday decor.
These would make great ornaments too don’t you think?
